Abstract

Mircea Cărtărescu’s poetry is imposing itself in Romanian literature as a reshaping force, bringing a new and exuberant breath. Through volumes such as Faruri, vitrine, fotografii, Poeme de amor, Totul, Levantul, Dragostea, Nimic and Nu striga niciodată ajutor, he broadens the horizon of poetic expression, combining the real with the imaginary, the everyday life with dreams and introspection. His protean style reconfigures tradition through irony, playfulness and intertextuality, transforming poetry into a space of continuous metamorphoses. His role in the evolution of Romanian poetry is essential: he introduces an urban and technical sensibility, brings the biographical element to the centre of poetry and opens new directions for the following generations, orienting poetic discourse towards authenticity, reflexivity and stylistic complexity.
