Abstract
The article examines the relationship between the meanings of words and their syntactic functions, extending the analysis to the interaction between lexicon and syntax. This relationship is essential for sentence organization: lexical semantics determines the syntactic functions of words, while syntax regulates their integration into a coherent utterance. The interdependence between semantics and syntax not only ensures the grammatical correctness of the sentence but also facilitates its precise interpretation. The study aims to describe the complex mechanism of interaction between a word as a part of speech and as a part of a sentence, highlighting how semantics and syntactic functions contribute to the construction and comprehension of utterances.
