Abstract
Sport is an intensely publicized phenomenon, which causes the migration of a considerable number of sports terms, namely in non-specialized contexts, a process where the terms undergo a series of semantic mutations. The paper is an analysis of the process of determinologization of the lexical units in the sports language on the basis of social-political- media texts (teletexts, webtexts), under which, according to our observations, they register a higher frequency. As a result, the specialized meanings, entered in dictionaries were con- fronted with those that the terms acquire in different non-specialized contexts. We note that many of these meanings, for the moment, are not fixed in general dictionaries, therefore the results of the present study could be used to reviewing and / or completing the respective lexicographic articles.
